About Judy Mainwaring
![]() |
Judy has been taking photographs since the age of 15, and was taught the art of composition and the importance of light on a landscape by her father, Edwin. He helped her develop and print her first black and white pictures in the darkroom at home. She acquired her first Pentax SLR camera in 1992 and joined the local Photographic Society, which gave her further inspiration. In 1997 she purchased a home computer and flatbed scanner and started on the exciting road to discovering digital imaging and what can be done without needing a darkroom. Judy's excitement for the art of photography is plain to see when you meet her, she has a real passion for recording momentous events as they happen. In the course of her press photography she has had the opportunity to photograph many celebrities, politicians, exciting local events, and be in places nobody else gets the chance to be. She also particularly enjoys recording weddings and family occasions as they hold such special significance for those taking part. Judy likes nothing better than to be out photographing landscapes and catching the very special light at dawn and sunset, winter and summer. What a brilliant way to earn a living! |
